Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole
Taking a stand against evil has an important place in scripture. Over and over again, we see examples of God’s people put in positions where their stand for right was an example that brought about repentance and revival.

Standing In Scripture
- Moses stood for God and delivered Israel from Egypt
- Gideon stood for God and tore down the altars of idols and then delivered God’s people from their enemies.
- David stood for God and killed Goliath with his own sword in a one-on-one fight.
- Elijah stood for God and defeated 450 false prophets and was later taken to Heaven in a chariot of fire.
- Job stood for God through trials and God restored unto him two-fold what he lost.
- Isaiah stood for God and was blessed to foretell the coming of Messiah.
- Daniel stood for God and was rescued from the hungry lions
- The three Hebrew children stood for God and walked with Jesus in the fiery furnace.
- The Apostles stood for God and had the privilege of sharing the Gospel with the world.
It’s Time To Stand UP
It’s time for God’s people, the born again children of the Living God who are in Christ Jesus, to stand up for right and against sin. Romans 12:9 teaches us to abhor evil and cleave to good. How can we do that if we condone evil, and even encourage it by our silence?
It’s Time To Stand OUT
We as Christians are called to be different. We are NEW CREATURES. Our old nature has no power over us if we have been truly born again by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:17-21) Because of this, we are called to be ambassadors, representing Christ in this world. We should be showing God’s love by abstaining from sin and living out our faith. There must be a difference in our lives from the point we were converted. If not, then it’s possible that there was no new birth.
We are called to be light in the darkness, salt of the earth, a peculiar people zealous of good works, not evil works. If we have been changed by God’s grace, we can live in God’s grace. That includes living holy lives.
It’s Time To Stand IN
We need to be standing in the gap, warning the lost about the reality of Hell, the penalty for sin, and proclaiming the grace of God that brings salvation and eternal life through Jesus’ finished work in His death, burial, and resurrection.
We must defend the weak and helpless, rebuke sinfulness, live holy lives, make intercession for others, love God above all things and love others as we do our own selves. This is the evidence of a true born again believer.
We should also stand in our places; to fill the need by being faithful to the local church, to our studies of God’s word, and to prayer. We are expected to be available, presenting our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable unto God.
It’s Time To Stand FAST
There has never been a more urgent need for God’s people to take a stand and to stand fast. That’s why we need to stand our ground, and stop giving Satan power over our lives and the lives of our families. Instead, we must stand fast in the Lord, walking with Him daily, going where He goes and doing what He commands us to do.
We must also stand fast in sound Bible doctrine, rightly dividing the word of truth, studying to show ourselves approved unto God by hearing His word, believing
The time has come when people no longer endure sound doctrine. Instead, they seek sugar-coated sermons full of self-love and follow after celebrity “preachers” who use them as merchandise instead of nurturing them and leading them toward Christ.
Make Your Choice
If you’ve read this entire article, you must now choose. Where do you stand? With God? Or with Satan? There is no middle ground here. This is spiritual warfare. It’s time to wake up, church. The battle is fully engaged, and Satan is assaulting with everything he has. Of course, we know he will lose, but at the judgment, where will YOU stand?
